Collecting tweets in which I have mused about the Nature Of Things.
Suppose for the sake of palaver that our lives follow a predestined/deterministic path, & that we have immortal souls (wild simplification)…
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014In that case it’s possible that the soul existing apart from time responds at all times to ALL experiences in your life incl. “future” ones.
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014Your fears in this case aren’t self-fulfilling prophecies, but memories & scars of the inevitable, apprehended dimly through time’s lens.
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014Now: meet a guy, instantly click, feel like you’ve known each other for yrs despite having just met. Your friendship then lasts many years…
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014The click happens because you HAVE known the guy for years. The years are in the future; the felt effect on your timeless souls is the same.
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014This idea strongly suggested by e.g. meeting of Merlin & young Arthur: Merlin remembers his future w/Arthur & thus knows him at first sight
— Joel Dueck (@joeld) April 4, 2014This isn’t something I believe; it’s something I like to imagine, which is almost the same thing.
